Dec. 15 Poetry Test Details
Format: Short answer and paragraph response. NO POINT FORM and PARAGRAPHS MUST HAVE PROPER FORMAT. If your paragraphs are too short, marks will be taken off (aim for half to 3/4 page double spaced).
Short Answer Section: You will find a Word document on your left titled "Poetry 10 Test Poems". Please download the file and study both poems. Each block will get a different poem on the test. You do not need to print out the poems, as both poems are in your textbooks (which will be available for use on the day of the exam).
Paragraph Response: Questions will draw on the poems and the analysis techniques that we've studied throughout the unit. Once again, the Poet's Craft text and extra copies of the supplementary poems will be available during the test (for reference purposes only).
Sample Paragraph Response Question: Discuss simile in two or more of the poems that we've studied in the poetry unit.
